Alewife

The Alewife is our version of the classic shadow box or alternating board style of fence. It’s a great option where privacy and air flow are both priorities. 1 x 4 or 1x 6 cedar boards are spaced on both sides of a flat 2 x 4 cedar rail so that they overlap the space of their counterpart on the other side of the rail to create a charming shadowbox effect.
